Information for Councils
If you want to increase the participation of young people in local issues and local democracy then Kids Voting is for you!
Kids Voting is a great opportunity for you to get involved with schools and young people in your area and to support their learning about how elections work. And it doesn’t require you to spend any money, just some time contacting the high schools in your area.
Kids Voting has many benefits in terms of enhancing students interest in, and comfort with, the electoral process. It has been shown to increase political engagement and participation of both students and their parents. In addition, Kids Voting can have a range of wider benefits including facilitating relationships between Councils and local schools and increasing students’ interest in local issues and decision making.
You can contribute by working with your local schools to provide information and support for Kids Voting.

Councils Registration Information
Before you register, we recommend that you discuss with all relevant colleagues the level of involvement you wish to have with your schools. At a minimum, we suggest you to hold face-to-face meetings with the schools in your area to encourage their involvement and explain how you can support them throughout the process. Ideally, we would also like you to help facilitate any activity or event such as civics day or a meet the candidate's event.
