Nationally the most obvious difference between the student and adult election was the turnout, with students appearing much keener to have their voices heard. At a local level, although in some areas the students' votes mirrored their parents voting patterns; more often there was a degree of variation between whom young people selected to represent them, and the candidates that were elected.
