November election: 13-year-olds set to vote in record numbers

More than 24,000 year nine students from across New Zealand will be among the first to ‘cast their votes' in the 8 November general election through Kids Voting, a programme educating and enthusing voters of the future with real life experiences of the campaign and simulated election processes.

25 Nov  Kids Voting Makes The Difference  

A very different government may have been sworn in this week had the election been decided by the votes of over 13,000 school students who took part in Kids Voting 2008, a simulated election held alongside the 2008 general election.
